Margherita M. Boccuzzi, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Feb. 22 after a brief illness. She was 70 years old.
Boccuzzi grew up the youngest of 10 children. She graduated from Stamford High School in 1958 and dedicated her life to her family and raising her children. Affectionately known as "Margie," she split her time between Stamford and a vacation home in Westerly, R.I. When she wasn't tending to her children or grandchildren, Boccuzzi enjoyed cooking, reading and a good game of Bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Pasquale; three children, Rosina Buongiorno and her husband, Joe, of New Canaan, Sam Boccuzzi and his wife, Anna, of Darien, and Pat Boccuzzi and his wife, Mugette; two sisters, Lucy Cullinan and Sarah Lorenti; three brothers, Dominick, Michael G. and Joseph R. Tarzia, and six grandchildren. A Mass will be held on Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan. Memorial donations can be made to the FOSH Scholarship Fund at Stamford High School.
