STAMFORD, Conn. -- Lifelong Stamford resident Lorraine Mallozzi died Sunday, June 26, at Stamford Hospital . She was 73 years old and suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
She worked as a bookkeeper at the Preiss Brismiester architectural firm, which was formerly based in Stamford. Mallozzi was devoted to her family as a wife, mother and grandmother and was affectionately called Hockey Mom by her children and grandchildren.
Mallozzi is survived by her husband, Benjamin Mallozzi; her children, Mark Mallozzi and his wife, Suzzanne, Michael Mallozzi and his wife, Deborah, John Mallozzi and his companion, Troy, and Lisa Palumberi and her husband, Frank, and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Tarantino.
A Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilias Church, 1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford, followed by interment at St. Johns Cemetery in Darien. Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association , 7 Skyline Drive, 2nd fl., Hawthorne, NY 10532.
