James E. Harvey, Born in Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — James E. Harvey, 67, of Bloomfield, died with his wife by his side on Aug. 27. He was born in Stamford on Nov. 9, 1943.

He moved to Hartford and worked for Combustion Engineering for 24 years. He was a baptized member of Jehovah’s Witnesses for the past 36 years and enjoyed sharing and teaching the truths of the Bible to his friends and neighbors.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Lela Jackson Harvey; daughters Diane Crook and Monique Jackson; sons Wendell Stevens and his wife, Sandra, Christopher Jackson and James Harvey Jr.; mother Evelton Harvey; sisters Joan Fields and Juanita Baskin and her husband, Lenny; his grandchildren; and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim, and brother, John Harvey Jr.

His family will receive friends and relatives from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sept. 3 at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at noon on Saturday. Interment will be private.
