Speakers will include Ron Pinciaro, executive director of Connecticut Against Gun Violence; organizers of a march for change in Hartford planned for Feb. 14; and clergy from various faiths offering reflections and prayers, a statement from the group said.

There will also be a discussion to develop action plans for safe and sane gun laws in the community after the deadly shootings at a Newtown elementary school last month.

The Interfaith Council has gathered 200 signatures from clergy in Connecticut who support stronger gun laws and restrictions on the sale of weapons and ammunition after the deaths of six teachers and 20 children at Sandy Hook Elementary School by a lone gunman.

The meeting will be Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 1 Walton Place. More information can be found be checking the organization’s website or by calling 203-348-2800.
