FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Train riders on Metro-North are experiencing huge delays at midday Thursday due to wire damage and a train with mechanical difficulties.
Trains on the New Haven Line in Connecticut were seeing delays of 60 to 90 minutes at about noon Thursday, Metro-North said via Twitter.
The train with a mechanical problem is in the vicinity of Cos Cob, Metro-North said. That is the same area where wire damage was reported, too.
Earlier, Metro-North also said the New Haven Line delays were "indefinite." It urged riders to watch for updates, which would be "provided as information is available."
Metro-North has reported lengthy delays many times this week, especially in the afternoon, due to ongoing overhead wire issues.
