STAMFORD, Conn. — Need to get your car off the streets so the plow can get rid of the snow? The parking garages in Stamford are open and free for residents until Friday morning. Stamford Mayor David Martin announced that effective immediately, residents can park in any of these garages for free until 9 a.m. Friday:

  • Bedford Street Garage: 17 Forest Street
  • Bell Street Garage: 28 Bell Street
  • Summer Street Garage: 100 Summer Street

Alternate side parking rules are in effect in Stamford.

On Thursday, parking is allowed on the even-numbered side of the street and restricted on the odd-numbered side of the street until 8 a.m. Friday, at which time cars should move to the odd-numbered side.

Martin said city plow crews have been working throughout the storm. The snow is still coming down and roads are slick across Stamford, he said.

"Don't venture out because we don't want to see your car in an accident report!" Martin said via Twitter.
