Frank Benvenuto, WWII Veteran

A Mass will be celebrated for Stamford resident Frank Benvenuto Monday at 10 .m. at Our Lady of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, 1200 Shippan Ave. Benvenuto died Nov. 4 at age 86. He was born in Greenwich on Sept. 4, 1924. He was an Army veteran, having served during World War II. He worked for the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad for 35 years before retiring. Benvenuto was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Marie Gale, who died in 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Gail Belasco of Port Richey, Fla.; a son, Mark Benvenuto of Stamford; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister, two brothers and a number of nieces and nephews. Following the service interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place, Stamford. Donations may be made in Benvenuto’s memory to Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence, 100 Shelburne Road, Stamford, CT 06902.
