Flash Flood Warning Issued In Stamford

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Steady rainfall may cause flash flooding throughout Fairfield County on Friday afternoon, the National Weather Service warns. A flash flood warning is in effect until 2 p.m.

Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour have been recorded and an additional 1 to 1.5 inches is possible, the service said.

“Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas and low-lying spots,” the service wrote in the warning.
