Fairway, WWE Team up for Halloween Party

Before it even officially opens in Stamford, Fairway Market is demonstrating its commitment to the community. To do that, it's teaming with Stamford-based WWE to host a Halloween party for youngsters this Friday at the city's Boys & Girls Club.

Fairway Market, a grocery and specialty food store, will open in Stamford, on Nov. 3. The 85,000-square-foot store already is a major employer, having hired hundreds in the area in anticipation of next week's opening.

Fairway had searched for a location to hold a community event, said Michael Cotela, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

"I'm glad they chose the Boys & Girls Club," he said. "It'll be a basic Halloween party with food and snacks and games. Admission is to wear your costume." Although the party is the first collaboration with Fairway for the Boys & Girls Club, it has been the beneficiary of WWE support in the past, Cotela said.

The event is free to costumed kids. Members of the public are welcome for a $10 donation, which will benefit the club. It also will get the donor an autograph from WWE's "Hart Dynasty," which consists of David Hart Smith, Tyson Kid and Diva Natalya.

The party will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. The Boys & Girls Club of Stamford is located at 347 Stillwater Ave.
