FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Two Connecticut dentists, one from Fairfield and the other from Stamford, have been charged with grand larceny in a case of Medicaid fraud, according to The Hartford Courant.

George Betser, 71, of Stamford is accused of false billing to Medicaid for dental work on patients without teeth, or denture work for patients without dentures, The Courant reported.

Paul Dengelegi, 51, of Fairfield, was arrested on charges of billing Medicaid for work he performed while he was prohibited from participating in the program, The Courant said.

Both Bester and Dengelegi are due to appear in court on Thursday, June 26, on charges that include first-degree larceny, according to the Courant.
