Stamford May Freeze Friday Night

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The first freeze of the season is coming to Fairfield County on Friday night. 

Temperatures could dip to about 30 degrees along the coast and into the mid-20s inland Friday night into Saturday morning, producing "widespread frost," the National Weather Service says.

freeze warning has been issued from 1 to 9 a.m., Saturday, "Temperatures below freezing could kill crops and sensitive vegetation," the National Weather Service says. 

Saturday will be cool, with temperatures in the low 50s along the coast and dropping into the high 40s inland, the Weather Service says. Saturday will be chilly, with temperatures in the high 30s. 

Sunday should be much warmer, with highs in the 60s, the Weather Service says.
