Early August Feels A Bit Like Fall In Stamford

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- With daytime high temperatures expected to stay in the mid-70s and overnight lows in the mid-50s, the first week of August may feel more like early fall in Fairfield County, the National Weather Service predicts.

The forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 77 degrees on Monday. The overnight low will be about 50 degrees, the weather service said. 

Tuesday brings a slight chance of showers in the afternoon, but otherwise it will be partly sunny, with a high near 76 degrees and a low in the mid-50s.

There is a chance of showers Wednesday, with thunderstorms also possible in the afternoon. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 76 degrees. 

A chance of showers and thunderstorms continues Thursday under mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 79.

According to the forecast, our first chance of seeing 80 degrees will come Friday, with partly sunny skies and a continuing chance of rain.
