STAMFORD, Conn. — Train service on the New Canaan Branch was halted for a couple of hours Wednesday evening after a disabled car became stuck on the tracks north of the Springdale station, Metro-North Railroad said via Twitter.

MTA workers removed the car about an hour after it became stuck at 7:50 p.m. on the tracks near Hoyt Street, south of the Talmadge Hill station, the Stamford Advocate reported.

A bus was sent to pick up stranded commuters, the Advocate said. No injuries were reported.

Regular train service was restored by 10 p.m. Wednesday, Metro-North said.
