STAMFORD, Conn. — The city of Stamford began picking up Christmas trees Monday and will continue until Feb. 1, the city announced.
Trees must be put out on the curb and should not have decorations on them, the city said. They should not be in plastic bags nor wrapped in plastic.
Only Christmas trees will be picked up — the city will not collect other debris put at the curbside. Residents can be cited or fined for leaving other waste at the side of the road.
You can also get rid of your Christmas tree at the city's recycling centers.
The collection may be delayed based on the weather. If you have any questions about the tree pickup, call 203-977-4140.
