Charles M. Silver, 82, of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — Charles M. Silver, 82, of Stamford died Jan. 30 of complications from a stroke.

The New Haven native served two stints in the Army before attending the University of Connecticut in 1954. After graduating, he worked for Arthur Andersen for about seven years before moving to International Telephone & Telegraph Corp., where he worked from 1961 to 1986. He later lectured on international finance at Fordham University and the University of Connecticut’s Stamford branch.

In his free time, Silver enjoyed fishing, tennis and gardening. He was also an avid New York Rangers, New York Giants and UConn sports fan.

Silver is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rose Silver; two daughters, Ronni Silver and Dr. Suzanne Hecht and her husband, Dr. Craig Hecht; a son, Steven Silver and his wife, Anna Sim Silver; and six grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home.
