Eddie Zapata, of Norwalk, turned himself into police on Thursday, after two warrants were issued for his arrest, said Norwalk Police Lt. Terrence Blake.

He was charged with enticing a minor by computer, two counts of risk of injury/impairing the morals of a child, importing child pornography and possession of child pornography.

The investigation into Zapata's actions began after Norwalk police were contacted by Homeland Security regarding a referral from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police about Zapata's actions, Blake said.

Norwalk Detective Jim Thompson led the investigation which led to a search of Zapata's home on Jan. 23, Blake said.

A number of internet-capable devices were seized from the residence during that operation, Blake said.

An analysis of those devices by Norwalk Sgt. Nate Paulino confirmed the communication with the 13-year-old female from Canada had occurred, and also revealed additional internet communications with a 12-year-old female from Florida, he said.

Zapata is being held on $200,000 bond.
