Betty Lupinacci, Involved With Stamford Baseball

STAMFORD, Conn. — Betty Lupinacci, 84, died Feb. 19 at Stamford Hospital of cancer. The Bronx, N.Y., native was born April 1, 1927, and moved to Stamford 20 years later.

She spent 21 years working for Olin Corp. Lupinacci also was active in serving the community. She helped to start the Westover Magnet School PTA and was past president of the Lione Little League Women’s Auxiliary and the Stamford Babe Ruth League Parent’s Committee, to name a few of her activities.

In her free time, Lupinacci enjoyed golfing, swimming, reading, sewing and cheering on the New York Yankees and New York Giants. She also liked to attend her children's and grandchildren’s sporting and school events.

Lupinacci is survived by daughter Louise Cronin; three sons, Anthony Lupinacci Jr. and his wife Toni (Pellicci), Robert Lupinacci and daughter-in-law Brenda Lupinacci, and Richard Lupinacci and his wife Ida; her sister Barbara Olivieri; and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Lupinacci, and daughter Donna Lupinacci Hermann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at St. Cecilia’s Church, 1143 Newfield Ave., Stamford, with burial to follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
