15-Year-Old Suspect In McDonald's Murder Appears In Stamford Court

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 15-year-old charged with stabbing a man to death outside the McDonald's in downtown Stamford in a dispute over spilled coffee made a brief appearance in court Tuesday, according to the Stamford Advocate.

At the hearing, defense attorney Ryan O’Neill asked for and was granted a continuance in the case against Marquest Hall until April 23, the Advocate said.

Hall, who is appearing in adult court because of the severity of the crime, has been charged with murder and held on $2 million bond in the March 11 stabbing death of Antonio Muralles, 52.

As he was leaving McDonald's, Muralles was carrying a cup of coffee and spilled some, police said. Despite his apology, Hall, James McLamb, 22, who is also charged with murder, and a third person began to assault Muralles, police said. During the assault, Hall stabbed Muralles in the heart, police said.

He underwent emergency surgery at Stamford Hospital but died of his injuries.
