The suspect, identified as Marquest Hall of Stamford, was arraigned with only his family and attorney in the courtroom, the Advocate said. The case was transferred from Juvenile Court because of the seriousness of the murder charge, the report said.

Bond was set at $2 million and Hall was returned to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center, the Advocate said.

Hall's arrest was announced Monday, along with the arrest of 22-year-old James McLamb of New Haven, who was arraigned Monday on murder charges and held on $2 million bond. An additional arrest was expected in the fatal stabbing, police said.

According to police, Hall was angry after the victim, 52-year-old Antonio Muralles, accidentally spilled coffee on him at about 8:15 p.m. March 11 as he was leaving McDonald's.

Muralles apologized, but Hall, McLamb and two to three others attacked him and stabbed him in the heart, said police, who pointed to Hall as the lead attacker. Muralles, a native of Guatemala, died early Thursday after emergency surgery at Stamford Hospital, police said.

Muralles' niece, Rosa Reyes, lives in Stamford. Through an interpreter, she said her uncle loved to sing and play guitar at family get-togethers.
