Which Stamford Ice Cream Is Top Banana?

STAMFORD,Conn. — Marina Salinas and Flor Cubas found a brief escape from the heat Thursday afternoon with cool cones at Dairy Queen.

The popular Summer Street parlor is just one of Stamford's ice cream hot spots, however. A question on TheDailyStamford.com’s Facebook page asking residents where they get in their licks drew many responses.

“Hands down the Dairy Queen!” said Shannon Reidy, one of two responders soft on the soft-serve establishment. 

Two cast their vote for Sunny Daes, located near both Cummings and West Beach. “Definitely Sunny Daes on Shippan Ave!” Marie Heil Hawe wrote.

The outdoor seating at Dairy Queen and Sunny Daes did not make them the overwhelming favorites. Readers also liked Springdale’s Dairy Inn and Coldstone Creamery on High Ridge Road.
