Three Stamford HS Students Recognized At Regional Art Awards Ceremony

STAMFORD, Conn. – Three Stamford High School students were recognized recently at the University of Hartford for their artistic contributions as part of the 2015 Connecticut Regional Scholastic Art Awards exhibition, the largest juried student art exhibition in the state.

Recognized for their artwork were Lewis Derogene, honorable mention for drawing; Michelle Skowronek, honorable mention for photography; and Margaret Simpson, honorable mention for ceramics and glass.

The student artwork was exhibited in the Silpe Gallery, University of Hartford, from Jan. 1 through Feb 2, and the awards were presented on Jan. 25.

As an affiliate of the National Scholastic Art Awards and The Alliance For Young Artists and Writers, this national program honors the creative efforts of students in grades 7 to 12 who attend public, private and parochial schools.
