Stamford Symphony Names New Board Chairman, Members

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Alan McIntyre has been named chairman of the board for the Stamford Symphony.

With more than 25 years experience consulting to financial institutions around the world, McIntyre has had a number of diverse roles in the global management consulting firm Oliver Wyman. He presently is a senior partner in the retail and business banking practice.

McIntyre, of Darien, is committed to the arts community, leading much of Oliver Wyman’s pro bono work in the arts, with a focus on the business side of classical music, according to a press release. He also sits on the board of the League of American Orchestras. 

Additionally, the symphony is welcoming eight new board members: 

  • Stephen Alpert, a Stamford resident, is a commercial finance attorney with Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP in New York City. 
  • Colette Chestnut, of Old Greenwich, most recently was global chief financial officer at Reader’s Digest.
  • Tomas Haendler, of Stamford, is a managing partner at Silver Heights Development in Westport, where he leads the real estate acquisition, development and lending efforts.
  • John Charles, of Old Greenwich, is vice president of international sales for PepsiCo Inc. in New York. 
  • Robert Lardon, a Greenwich resident, is a director at Tectonic Audio Labs, a Seattle-based manufacturer of flat panel speaker systems serving the consumer, automotive and professional audio markets.
  • Arnold Rutkin, of Rowayton, is a partner at Rutkin, Oldham & Griffin in Westport. 
  • Andres Siefken, a Norwalk resident, most recently was executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Daymon Worldwide in Stamford. 
  • Damon Vocke, of Wilton, is president of General Re Group, a re-insurance company in Stamford.
