Each year the district looks back at what has been accomplished over the previous year and reports out on the progress, successes and challenges. Achievement results for the current year are not available until the fall. In addition to statistics and results, in an effort to personalize the district for those who may be new to the area, the report features outstanding administrators, teachers, students and alumni.

“It is the people in our schools — staff and students alike — who positively impact one another, our buildings, our community and beyond,” said Superintendent Winifred Hamilton. “I encourage you to read about those who make our district so successful, as well as about those whom the district has helped to become successful.”

The report features three SPS administrators, Toquam Principal Amy Beldotti, KT Murphy Principal Frank Rodriguez and Dolan Middle School Assistant Principal Crystal Perry, all of whom attended SPS.

Teachers Jimmy Sapia, Rippowam IB; Emily Korn, Cloonan Middle School; Miriam Gonzarelli, Turn of River Middle School; and Isaac Odoom, Stamford High School are also highlighted.

Students featured are Paulomi Rao, Stamford High School; Natalie Skigen and Daniel Getman, Westhill High School; and Thomas Miller and Michelle Printsev, Academy of Information Technology and Engineering.

Some of the successful alumni shared their positive SPS experiences as well. Profiles include: Alfred Thomas Jr., admissions counselor and adjunct professor, Norwalk Community College; Amanda Contento, Fairfield University master’s degree candidate; professional entertainer Ryan Oakes; and John Martin, executive director IT, Verizon Communications. Martin also donated his time and talent to creating the report by taking a majority of the photographs.
