FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Fairfield County’s Community Foundation has added seven board members who bring a wealth of expertise. Each is elected to a three-year term.

"With a combined history of extensive leadership" the Community Foundation noted in a news release, "they will empower the Community Foundation to make an even greater impact throughout the region."

  • Clayton Fowler, of Pound Ridge, is a founding partner of Spinnaker Real Estate Partners. He has over 30 years' experience in development and management. He's served on affordable housing committees and is currently on multiple local boards.
  • Gerald M. Fox, III, of Stamford, has been a partner with Fox & Fox for more than 20 years, and he's Stamford's newly-elected probate judge. Fox is on the boards of the Stamford Museum and Nature Center and St. Joseph Parenting Center.
  • Michelle Garvey, of Weston, is senior VP and CIO for Ann, Inc., a specialty retailer for fashionable women’s clothing. She previously held CIO positions with other large corporations and retailers.
  • Don Kendall Jr., of Weston, "is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for creating startups as well as turnaround companies," according to the release. He co-founded American Restaurants and Hotwire.com. He was a driving force in the creation of Social Venture Partners Connecticut .
  • Maya Tichio, of Greenwich, has extensive banking industry experience. She's been a VP of global principal investments at Deutsche Bank and worked at AEW Capital Management and JPMorgan Chase.
  • Briggs Tobin, of Ridgefield, has 25 years' legal practice in global mergers and acquisitions. He's the CFO for Ridgefield Academy, serves on the Ridgefield Historic District Commission, and works with Pro Bono Partnership and Habitat for Humanity.
  • Bruce Winningham, of Old Greenwich, is a co-founding consultant and partner at NorthStar Partners. Winningham also held positions at Sara Lee, Kraft and Tambrands.

Fairfield County’s Community Foundation promotes philanthropy as a means to create change in Fairfield County. Individuals, families, corporations and organizations can establish charitable funds or contribute to existing funds.
