Stamford Partnership Board Elects New Chairwoman

STAMFORD, Conn. – The Stamford Partnership's board of directors recently elected a new chairwoman.

“I am very excited to take on leadership of the Stamford Partnership board, and look forward to bringing renewed awareness of the Partnership’s role in being a catalyst for taking citywide efforts in new directions,” said Valerie Senew, first vice president and growth manager for the Fairfield County branches of People’s United Bank.

For 33 years, the Stamford Partnership, a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization, has been dedicated to enhancing Stamford’s business environment and the quality of life for all those who work and/or live in the city.

She has served on the Stamford Partnership board of directors for four years.

Senew has worked at People’s United Bank for more than 20 years. She earned a master's in business administration from Fairfield University, and an undergraduate degree from Babson College in Massachusetts. Senew holds a number of professional designations and licenses, including a Connecticut life insurance license.

Stamford Partnership board members re-elected the following people to return as officers of the board.

  • David Smith, treasurer.
  • Jeanne Carrillo, vice chairwoman.

Smith has more than three decades of experience in the healthcare management field. He is senior vice president of strategy and chief strategy and network development officer for Stamford Hospital.

Carillo is a second vice president and North American service operations manager at General Reinsurance Corp.

Her community service record includes co-chairing a major fundraiser for Westhill High School, and serving as vice president and treasurer for the East Side Partnership board.
