Stamford Church's Interfaith Service Remembers Newtown Victims

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Interfaith Council of Southwestern Connecticut will host an interfaith service to remember the victims of the Newtown shootings at Church of Christ the Healer in Stamford on Saturday, Dec. 14.

"We Bring the Light: An Interfaith Service of Hope and Healing" will feature readings, prayers and music from soloists and area choirs. Musicians include: noted tenor Juan Carlos Franco; soprano Ellen Zimmer Lewis; up-and-coming folk singer Annie Nirschel; the Haitian Mass Choir; Cantor Sabrina Lipton, and the band at Christ the Healer.

Victims and survivors of violence will also speak at the service.

Elected officials expected to attend include U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and U.S. Rep. Jim Himes (D-4th District).
