The exhibit will be on display at The Salmagundi Club, 47 5th Avenue (between 11th and 12th Streets) in Manhattan from Nov. 10 through Nov. 21.
An artist reception and award ceremony will take place on Sunday, Nov. 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Sissman’s landscapes, like her flowers, are not merely intended to reflect nature but rather to project an inner reflection, a metaphorical journey.
“I admire the intensity of emotions found in the works of the Expressionists. Like them, I too mix my soul with my paints. However, I strive to be subtle in my expression of the intense."
Sissman’s art is collected by individuals on three continents and by healing organizations nationwide. Sissman is an elected Fellow of The American Artists Professional League. Her art was recently featured in Warner Brothers’ “Something Borrowed,” starring Kate Hudson.
