STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Rotary Club of Stamford will celebrate its 90th anniversary by holding a wine dinner at the Royal Green restaurant at Sterling Farms on Saturday, Sept. 7.
The club was chartered in April 26, 1923, at the Stamford Yacht Club. It meets every Tuesday at noon at the Sheraton Hotel. The object of the club is to promote friendship and understanding of its members, and cooperation and activity in community service.
In 1961, the club established a trust fund that now totals more than $250,000. The money is used to provide scholarships to deserving students in the Stamford community.
The club's longest-standing member, Brud Deluca, will be in attendance at the dinner.
