The public will get an opportunity to share their questions, thoughts and concerns about Iran and the state of U.S. regional policies with peace/social activist Ommani.
These will be among the topics:
• The myth and reality regarding Iran’s nuclear program and intentions — and what mutually beneficial opportunities remain overlooked
• What life in Iran was like before the Islamic Revolution of 1979 and under current material and financial sanctions
• How dwindling global supplies of petroleum (and what currencies are used to trade in them) are fueling East/West discord
• How US/NATO diplomatic, economic and military engagements with Syria, Iraq, Russia and other nations are tied to US/Iranian tensions
Ommani is co-founder of the American-Iranian Friendship Committee, a ten-year-old organization devoted to fostering cultural understanding and a constructive outcome to the tempestuous history between the United States and the Islamic Republic. She is a veteran teacher in the New York City school system and has studied at the State University of New York at Oswego, as well as Hunter and Brooklyn colleges. She and her husband, Ardeshi, committee co-founder travel regularly between the U.S. and his native Iran.
