Person-to-Person’s Campership program helps send nearly 500 low-income Stamford students to summer camp each year.

The “Balloons for Campers” event was held on Wednesday, March 4, at Wee Burn Country Club.

“Balloons for Campers Day is such a heartwarming and vital program,” Erica Wood, a former Opus for Person-to-Person co-president and current event organizer, said in a press release.

“This program not only helps working parents, but it also gives children skills and lifelong memories from a camp experience.”

More than 60 members and guests attended the luncheon, which featured local author Kristen Harnisch as the keynote speaker.

Volunteers will tie a red balloon to each donor’s mailbox on Saturday, May 16.
