Open House hours are 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Parents, teens and psychological professionals are encouraged to attend and learn about Newport Academy’s holistic treatment programs, tour the facility and meet the clinical and educational staff.

The new location on Old Kings Highway South in Darien is home to the healing center’s Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program and its private recovery-based high school, the Newport Academy Day School.

“We are thrilled to be able to serve in this community. The opportunity for kids to have support, guidance and an educational setting that is a completely sober environment is exciting for the community,” said Jamison Monroe, founder of Newport Academy.

Founded in Newport Beach, California, in 2008, Newport Academy has established a highly individualized and comprehensive approach to healing for teens and their families. With locations in California, Connecticut and New York, Newport Academy is dedicated to reducing the social stigma associated with mental health conditions and substance abuse nationwide, and its treatment programs help adolescents heal and live happy, healthy lives.

"There is a void in terms of treatment centers for teen mental health and substance abuse, both in this region and across the country," said Monroe. “We believe that our approach and success rate, coupled with the fact that we accept most insurance, will give the East Coast better access to superior care."

The clinical and educational staff at Newport Academy’s Darien facility combines various clinical, experiential and academic treatment modalities that address and nurture the individual needs of each student along the path to recovery.

“There is no reason that families should suffer in silence or feel unsupported as they navigate complicated times. We are here to guide teens and parents as they experience adolescence and embark on what can and should be one of the most exciting stages of life,” said Monroe.
