"I asked for walkie-talkies, flashlight, I remember, Pokeman cards," he said, ticking off the list he had prepared for Santa.

On Wednesday, he was one of nine Boys & Girls Club of Stamford members who went to the NBCUniversal Center in Stamford to collect gifts donated by the company's staff.

"The holidays are a very special time for us here at NBCUniversal Stamford," said Vinnie Fusco, general manager and executive in charge of production at NBCUniversal’s Stamford Media Center. Toy drives are an annual event at the center, he said, and he year they chose to partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

"We're so happy to be working with the Boys & Girls Club," he said. "Hopefully they can have a great holiday season."

The club initially asked for toys for 30 children ages 6 to 12, but NBCUniversal staff wanted to contribute even more. The club added gifts for 10 more children, said Michael Cotela, executive director for the Boys & Girls Club.

The community has been generous in supporting the Boys & Girls Club, especially in a year when the shutdown of area youth centers has sent more students to the programs at the Boys & Girls Club, he said.

The club has about 300 children per day using its services, with about 1,300 total membership.

"I think this is tremendous. For some of these kids this could be the best Christmas present they are going to get," Cotela said.

The gifts collected at NBCUniversal were taken back to the Boys & Girls Club, where they will be wrapped and handed out to the children by the end of the week, Cotela said.

In addition to these gifts, NBCUniversal also contributed a separate toy donation to other children who attend programming at the club.
