Letter: Ex-Stamford Fireman's Family Says Thanks

STAMFORD, Conn. — The following is a letter from the family of Robert Venneri Sr., thanking their friends and family for the support they have received since his death. The Stamford Daily Voice accepts all letters to the editor from readers.

To all our Friends & Family:

Thank you to each and every one of you for all your kind words, special notes, hugs, and prayers that you have offered us. It is often said that words are just not enough to help make the pain of losing someone you love easier to bear, but I can honestly say that it has helped us get through some of the tough moments we've experienced these past few weeks.

Next Saturday, June 23, the Venneri family will be celebrating the life, death and legacy of Robert W. Venneri Sr. (Bobby), a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, friend, and hero. As a veteran Stamford Firefighter of 30 years, we will honor his bravery and commitment to keeping the community safe. We will recognize his service in the United States Marine Corps. We will remember his passion for riding motorcycles, which he did often for charitable causes that benefited children and for his active volunteerism in both Stamford, Conn., and New Bern, N.C. We will honor and remember what we know had the most value to him, his family.

For those of you who would like to attend, I have provided the information below. Please feel free to forward this on in the event that I may have forgotten someone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made Shriners Hospital for Children, 403 E. Front St., New Bern, NC 28560.

Date: Saturday June 23
