Grimaud joins the Stamford Symphony for two concerts on Saturday April 25 at 8 p.m. and Sunday April 26 at 3 p.m., at the Palace Theatre.

She will be performing Brahms Concerto No. 1 in D minor and Beethoven Symphony 3 in E-flat Major Eroica. The Symphony will also perform works by C.P.E. Bach and Beethoven.

Grimaud is a world class pianist known for her poetic expression and peerless technical control. Born in Aix-En-Provence, France she studied piano at the conservatory in Marseille and at the young age of 13, was accepted into the Paris Conservatoire where she won first prize in piano performance. She continued to study with world class teachers until 1987 when she gave her well received debut in Tokyo.

She is also a published author and a wildlife conservationist who established the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem.

Despite her dedication to her passions, it is through Grimaud’s thoughtful and tenderly expressive music-making that she most deeply touches the emotions of audiences.
