“See No Evil, Hear No Evil” is the third comedy that starred Wilder and Richard Pryor, an Avon release said. Wilder plays Wally, a deaf newsstand owner who employs Pryor’s Dave, who is blind, according to the website IMDB.com. The two witness a murder, but Wally had his back turned, so neither saw the shooter, IMDB.com said.

In addition to his successful movie career as an actor, screenwriter and director, Wilder has more recently become an author, writing two novels and a collection of short stories. He and his wife Karen have also stayed active in Stamford with numerous philanthropic endeavors, the release said.

Tickets for Avon members are $25 and $35 for nonmembers. For tickets, call the business office during the day at 203-661-0321 or the box office during showtimes at 203-967-3660 Ext. 2.

The event will be on Oct. 16 with a reception starting at 6:30 p.m. and the film to follow at 7:30 p.m. at the Avon Theatre, 272 Bedford St.
