Greenwich Native Becomes Director Of Programs At Hometown YMCA

GREENWICH, Conn. --  A Greenwich native has taken over as director of programs at the YMCA of Greenwich, which is about to turn 100.

“YMCA programs service a real need for numerous youth, families, and seniors in our town," said Heather Brown Lowthert. 

She will oversee the Y's sports, camps, wellness and aquatics programs.

"I look forward to being part of a team that makes an impact in Greenwich every day.”

Lowthert has more than 20 years of experience in working kids and families. She was program director at the Greenwich Boy Scout Council and before that was a preschool director in Westchester County, N.Y.

Lowthert graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in parks and recreation management.

“Heather is a perfect win for the Greenwich Y,” said President and CEO Bob DeAngelo. 

“We’re continually expanding our offerings to better serve Greenwich’s needs. Her expertise and energy will help us develop dynamic programs that strengthening the foundation of our community.”
