The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial  honors those who have died in the line of duty since 1918.

New names being added to the wall this year include: Stamford Fire Fighter Henry Wosniak, who perished in 1973, Captain George Daily (1956), Captain James R. Murray (1945), Fire Fighter Thomas J. Meehan (1932), and Fire Fighter Oscar H. Spahr (1920).

They will join Stamford Fire Fighters William Thomas Miller Jr. (2001) and Captain Daniel Chichester (2010), whose names have already been placed on the wall.

This year, the IAFF will unveil a beautifully rebuilt Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial, four times larger than the original honoring more than 7,300 fire fighters and paramedics across the U.S. who died in the line of duty. Stamfor

The names include those who died on the job, as well those who died from toxic exposures, including more than 120 who succumbed after being exposed to deadly carcinogens while searching for survivors at Ground Zero.

The names will appear etched on granite slabs forming concentric circles.

Five members of the Stamford Professional Fire Fighters Association (SPFFA) Executive Board will be attending the service on Saturday: including President Brendan Keatley, Charles Cackowski, Ralph Falloon, William Wieck and Matthew Palmer.
