STAMFORD, Conn. Are you tired of getting your fishing line tangled or sitting in the sun all day without getting a bite? Then youre in luck, because two free classes for anglers will be offered next month in Stamford.
The classes are given by certified volunteer fishing instructors for Connecticut Aquatic Resources Education who will teach different techniques for safe angling and proper casting and offer other basic tips, a news release said.
The two classes are identical, so people will need to attend only one. The sessions conclude with the volunteers taking a field trip with the inexperienced anglers for a day of fishing and fun.
Anyone over the age of 7 can participate, and children must be accompanied by adults.
The classes take place on Friday, Sept. 9, and Friday, Sept. 16, in the 4th Floor Café of the Stamford Government Center . Each class will go from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. The field trip will take place on Sept. 24 in Wolffe Park in Monroe.
