Hanson brings to the board more than 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. He currently serves as group president for New Jersey-based Covidien, responsible for all company global business segments.

At Covidien, Hanson directs all strategic and day-to-day operations to drive business development and innovation for the company’s medical devices and medical supplies, as well as its emerging markets and developed markets business segments.
Hanson is responsible for the business’s success and organic growth while expanding the company’s global reach.
With more than 39,000 employees, Covidien operates in 150-plus countries and had 2014 revenue of $10.7 billion.
The AmeriCares Board of Directors oversees all aspects of the organization’s global health programs, including its disaster response work and aid deliveries to under-resourced hospitals and health clinics worldwide.
