'Dancing With The Stars' Benefit Set For Stamford Theater

STAMFORD, Conn. — City professionals and business people will once again tango and cha-cha their way across the stage at Stamford’s Palace Theater in “Curtain Call’s Dancing with the Stars.”

The fundraiser for the local theater company will be hosted by WABC meteorologist Bill Evans.

Lou Ursone, executive director of Curtain Call, said in a press release: "As a life-long Stamford resident and member of the arts community here, I can't tell you how exciting it is to see this outpouring of support from our community to help keep our community theatre strong."

This is the sixth year of the event and there will be several winners, the release said. There will be Judges Choice Awards for the best male and female dancers and Peoples Choice Awards for the male and female dancers with the most “votes.” Each $10 donation is worth one vote.

The final event takes place May 18. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities went on sale Thursday. Visit the “Special Events” tab on Curtain Call’s website for more information.
