Community Foundation Aids Ballet School Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – The Ballet School of Stamford has received a $12,500 grant from Fairfield County's Community Foundation, with the money earmarked for its outreach and scholarship program, Dance For All.

“We are proud that BSS has received this grant from the foundation’s Arts and Culture Fund. Both organizations believe in the power of arts eduction in the lives of children and youth,” says Marti Etter, The Ballet School of Stamford’s executive director.

The school was started in 1998 to give dance training to any children in the county who want it. This year alone, the school has given over $105,000 in scholarships to potential students.

The classes cover ballet, classical, modern, jazz and musical theater. Other elements of BSS study include health and wellness, nutrition counseling, physical therapy, along with academic and career guidance for older students.

BSS is in downtown Stamford's Old Town Hall and draws students from Fairfield and Westchester counties.
