Chelsea Piers CT Assembles All-Star Team Of Coaches For 2014 Summer Camps

Make Chelsea Piers Connecticut in Stamford summer headquarters for all of your kids! This extraordinary day camp starts June 16th and runs throughout the summer. Campers aged 5-17 can sign up for 1, 2 or more weeks and choose between sport-specific camps in 10 different sports, or a number of dual-sport camp or multi-sport camp options. Full and half-day options are available.

The centerpiece of the Chelsea Piers camp program is a roster of high-level coaches in each camp. In addition to being accomplished athletes, the coaching staff is skilled at  working with children of all ages and ability levels. “At Chelsea Piers we pride ourselves on hiring the very best coaches. We look for instructors who not only possess top-level playing and coaching credentials, but who also love working with kids and understand how to motivate and inspire young athletes,” noted Mollie Marcoux, Executive Director of Chelsea Piers Connecticut.  This summer’s notable coaches include:

Soccer: 4-time Olympian Kristine Lilly returns for the Kristine Lilly Soccer Academy, as well as Girl’s Leadership Camp. The soccer staff is led by Soccer Director David Flower, a master coach with 15 years of teaching and coaching experience.

Squash: Former World #1 Natalie Grainger leads the summer squash camps and participates in the Girl’s Leadership Camp.

Tennis: Two-time Olympic gold medalist and 17-time Grand Slam Champion Gigi Fernandez helped develop the Chelsea Piers tennis camps and will participate in the Girl’s Leadership Camp.  The Chelsea Piers staff is comprised of eight of the strongest teaching pros in the northeast.

Swimming: National Champion Jamie Barone leads the swimming instruction for all campers.

Ice Hockey: 1998 Olympic Gold Medalist Alana Blahoski, along with current coaches from Yale, Army, Sacred Heart and Trinity, provide on-ice instruction.

Gymnastics: Byron Knox, former Women's National Team Coach and Regional Elite Gymnastics Director for USA Gymnastics, leads all gymnastics camps.

Lacrosse: Scott Bulkley, former Captain of University of North Carolina’s ACC Championship team and Greenwich High School head coach leads the boys’ summer camp programming.  Caitlin Young, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill standout, directs all girls lacrosse camps and participates in Girls’ Leadership Camp.
