Salomons is a professor in the School of International Public Affairs. The talk begins at 5:45 p.m. with refreshments and networking, and the presentation and question-and-answer period will run from 6:15 to 7:30.
This program is open to all and is free for members of either the Forum Series or the Ambassadors' Roundtable Series of the World Affairs Forum, as well as for any UConn faculty member or student. Salomons focuses on the interaction between policy and management in humanitarian operations in Africa and has a particular interest in the transition from relief to recovery in countries coming out of conflict. He previously served as managing partner of the Praxis Group Ltd., an international management consulting firm based in the USA and Switzerland.
Salomons served in a range of management, peace building and policy advisory functions in the United Nations system, including serving as executive director for the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Mozambique from 1992 to 1993.
