STAMFORD, Conn. -- Madonna Badger, the Stamford woman who lost her three daughters and her parents in a house fire on Christmas in 2011, wrote a first person account of the tragedy for Vogue magazine recently.

In the article titled "The Long Road Back: How to Keep Going After the Unimaginable Happens," Badger -- who now lives in New York City -- recounts the night she lost her family and how she managed to carry on despite the loss.

She also reveals that she is engaged and plans to marry in September 2014.

Badger also says in the piece that she plans to spend this Christmas with her fiancé volunteering to help children in need, and that now, she is filled "with immeasurable hope."
