Stamford Salon Paints The Town Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Loft Salon and Spa of Stamford raised more than $1.000 to support Breast Cancer Awareness month with a Paint the Town Pink event.

The Loft team sold raffle tickets and donated proceeds from any client that booked blow-dry appointments during a two-hour period. The salon was decorated with bright pink lights, large pink lanterns, floral arrangements, candies and pink martinis.

“We love to support causes in the community especially those around health and beauty as it aligns with our passion and business,'' said Liz Marchese, salon manager for The Loft.

The salon partnered with the Bennett Cancer Center, Wagon Wheel Liquors, Mediterraneo of Norwalk, Petals and Leaf Décor and Events and Judy’s Kitchen to provide a fun night of mingling, martinis and raffle prizes to honor those who have been recently diagnosed with breast cancer and breast cancer survivors. “There is nothing we can do that is better than making a women feel better about how she looks,” said Donna Lysobey, Styling Director. “It is a known fact, that when you look good, you feel good and, we are all devoted to making people feel good.”

The Loft sold raffles tickets at $5 per piece, for a chance to win elaborate prizes. Donations included an Archipelago spa basket, an Oribe basket of products plus a gift certificate for a senior color and cut, an R & Co. product basket and gift certificate for hair services with a junior stylist, a pro-fiber hair care system and senior color and cut, a basket of Smith and Cult lip glosses and nail products plus a makeup application and blow-dry, a gift basket of cheer from Wagon Wheel Liquors plus a men’s haircut, a floral arrangement from Petals and Leaf Décor and Events and lunch for two from Mediterraneo of Norwalk. Gift baskets were each valued between $230-$850 retail.
