The threat of rain may have kept some home, but the weather held out. The large crowd that filled the area danced the night away to the Latin sounds of Tito Puente Jr. and His Orchestra.
The evening's opening act was Stamford band Pana, who got the crowd warmed up with a strong set.
Goli Faraji, of Stamford, attended the show with her husband and two children. She was returning for the second year.
"I think it's awesome," she said, "it's great. I think it's really nice that Stamford offers this. I don't think any other town around does. We like any kind of live music. We do like Tito Puente Jr., we've seen him before, so it should be fun."
Motts Pelazza, of Stamford, the MC and announcer for all the Live@Five events, said response to the shows on Wednesdays and Thursdays - which have been taking place for at least 15 years - has been great.
"The turnouts have been really good," Pelazza said. "We've been really fortunate with the first three shows with the weather, so I would tell everyone - get here early, and get ready for a great show.
"I see a lot of diversity in the crowd," he added. "Young people, older people, families. ... I've got my 6-and-a-half-year old grandson here. So he's getting exposed to music he may never get to hear.
"That's the great thing about it - and it's presented here, in downtown Stamford, every Wednesday and Thursday throughout the summer. It's a great thing."
