Starting this month, Scheduled Rides are now available in Connecticut in Stamford and Bridgeport as well as in New Haven and Hartford and other places around the nation.

"Scheduled Rides is the feature from our riders, especially for times like early morning trips to the airport," Uber said in a statement. "And even though we pride ourselves on providing on-demand rides, we totally get it. When you've got somewhere to be at a very specific time, it’s nice to have extra assurance that a ride will be available when you need it."

So if you have a flight booked and your bags packed, now you can set up your Uber ride.

"With just a few taps to the app, riders are able to schedule an Uber ride for as little as 15 minutes to as many as 30 days in advance," Uber said. The service "will become instantly available to a quarter of all Uber Connecticut riders."

Business Profile and Uber for Business users will have priority access. What is a Business Profile? Any rider with a work email address can create a Business Profile within their existing Uber account to separate work and personal rides. Business Profiles ensure that work-related rides can be automatically expensed by linking the correct credit card, email, and expense provider to the rides. It will roll out to all riders in the four Connecticut cities throughout the next few weeks.

Here's how Schedule Rides works:

  • Select UberX and tap “Schedule a Ride.”
  • Set your pickup date, time, location, and destination.
  • Confirm the details of your upcoming trip and tap “Schedule uberX.” You can cancel at anytime before your ride is on the way.
  • You'll get reminders both 24 hours and 30 minutes in advance of the pickup. You’ll be notified after your ride is on the way, as well as whether surge pricing applies.
