Stamford Chef Honored At Greenwich Hospital Fundraising Feast

GREENWICH, Conn. -- It was a night to remember ... and to feast on.

The 30th annual Great Chefs event, held to benefit vital outreach services provided by Greenwich Hospital, was chock full of creative cocktails, tantalizing hors d'oeuvres and a divine dinner. The fundraiser, which drew nearly 350 guests, took place March 6 at Westchester Country Club in Rye.

Celebrity chefs Aarón Sánchez of Paloma in Stamford, and Debra Ponzek, who with her husband Gregory Addonizio, owns Aux Délices, a favorite specialty food store for many residents of Greenwich, Riverside, Darien and Westport, were honored at this celebration of all things delicious. Mouthwatering specialties were prepared by nearly 60 top chefs and beverage distributors.

Co-chairs Jenni Salinas and Janet Delos of Greenwich, and their enthusiastic committee of volunteers, created a night to remember with silent, live and fine wine auctions and dancing.

Norman G. Roth, interim president and CEO at Greenwich Hospital, lauded the many accomplishments of all involved including the esteemed chefs.

“These talented professionals are honored tonight for their commitment to community, quality and customer service, values we at Greenwich Hospital share,” he said.

Great Chefs benefits Community Health at Greenwich Hospital, which last year provided wellness services, health screenings, support groups and education programs to nearly 22,000 residents in Fairfield and Westchester counties, accounting for much of the $32 million in community benefits Greenwich Hospital provides annually. More than 50 percent of Greenwich Hospital patients are Westchester residents.
