Curtain Up: Fairfield's Quick Center Announces New Season Of The Arts

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A chat with actor Mark Ruffalo, a bracing performance by the Paul Taylor Dance Company and a few yuletide tunes with musical marrieds John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molasky.

Those are some of the highlights of the just-announced 2017-18 season at Fairfield University’s Quick Center for the Arts.

The 27th season opens with the first evening of Open VISIONS Forum, a popular speakers’ series that brings international activists, artists and thought leaders to the Quick Center stage.

Known for such varied roles as The Incredible Hulk in “The Avengers” and Boston Globe reporter Michael Rezendes in the the Oscar-winning “Spotlight,” Ruffalo will also discuss his off-screen activism on climate change and environmental issues during his Sept. 28 talk.

The season also includes several screenings of the popular The Met: Live in HD, performances and peeks behind the scenes beamed in from New York’s Metropolitan Opera.
