STAMFORD, Conn. -- Doctors have been saying for years that exercise is one of the most important lifestyle choices you can make. Now, some doctors from Stamford are not only talking the talk but also walking the walk.
The Stamford "Walk with a Doc" is a free program in which physicians from the Stamford community lead bi-weekly walks in Stamford where they share health information and walk together with everyone.
Water and light snacks will be provided. Please bring sneakers and comfortable walking clothes.
The program takes place from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mill River Park, Mill River Street. If there is inclement weather, the program is canceled.
Health experts say walking can add years to your life, not to mention the dramatic impact it can have on the quality of life. Walking is easy and has the lowest drop-out rate of any exercise program, yet still offers huge benefits.
